When a wing isn’t a wing…
When we’re talking about building a great chicken wing portfolio, let’s not forget about your vegetarian guests. Just because they go sans-meat doesn’t mean they don’t deserve to enjoy the mouth-watering flavors your kitchen puts out.
The Sweet Chili & Honey Garlic Glaze made with Frank’s RedHot® Sauces is aimed directly for your vegetarian guests. But don’t worry; this flavor profile works just as well with your traditional chicken wing.
¼ cup, Orange juice, fresh
½ tbsp., Cilantro, freshly chopped
1½ lbs., Firm tofu, 1" x ½" x ½", oiled and grilled (or your chicken wings of choice)
Blend Frank’s RedHot Sweet Chili® Sauce and Frank’s RedHot® Stingin’ Honey Garlic™ Sauce with orange juice.
Add the herbs close to service or use them as a garnish.
Toss grilled tofu in sauce.
Hints & Tips
Look for ways of getting creative with the flavor. Example: replace the fresh orange juice with pineapple juice, mango juice or coconut milk for different flavor profiles.
Marinate the tofu with light soy and fruit juice. When using softer tofu, it may be better to pan sear or flat-griddle sear.
