This is the final week of relevant regular season games in the NCAA and the last few week of the NFL season as well. It is also the final week of the Football Preview. Going forward you will need to check your Weekly Preview on Friday for the upcoming week’s schedule. The good news is that nothing is really clear in either the College Football Playoff picture or the NFL standings.
This week’s schedule includes crucial conference championship games for (1) Alabama in SEC and (3) Clemson for the ACC. However, absent an upset loss for either of them, they will be two of the teams left at season’s end. The really interesting thing this year is you have (2) Ohio State not even qualifying for the Big Ten conference final. Lastly, (4) Washington has to get by Colorado to insure they are there at the end.
In the NFL, the playoff picture is equally as murky. In the AFC, two teams with 6-5 records lead their divisions in Baltimore and Houston. While the best of the AFC, New England and Oakland, both have hard roads to follow for home field advantage. In the NFC no team except Dallas has a real lead in their division. This season will come down to the wire for playoff seeds and pairings. Lots of important games including a great matchup on Thursday between the Cowboys and Vikings and Carolina at Seattle in a great Sunday night tilt.
