Workout those negotiating skills
Restaurant managers are constantly barraged by folks trying to sell them something. It’s a nuisance and can be a real distraction. However, it can also be a great negotiating tool.
Don’t be bashful and ask your existing vendors to discount or review your pricing. Sometimes we tell ourselves we are too busy to challenge our vendors to deliver their best pricing. In many cases that’s not true.
So go ahead, ask for the sharpened pencil and see your costs drop. Your vendors are also your partners, so be professional about it, but you have muscle. It’s ok to flex it a little.
