How Hollywood sees us: Taking your regulars for granted

The Restaurant Industry According to Hollywood #4

Do you know the 80/20 rule? In our business, 80% of your profit comes from 20% of your customers. Regulars are the glue that keeps your business together. The irony is that we rarely stop to appreciate their contribution and assume they are there for us. While it’s true we give them a place to call their own, we are also being compensated for that service.

How many Norms and Cliffs do you have at your place? When is the last time you stopped and thanked them? It’s a simple thing to hold a seat, have a drink ready, or ask about their day, but we get so busy we frequently forget—or worse resent them. Don’t take your regulars for granted! It pays to pause, be grateful and express it.

Give it shot. I bet you feel great afterwards.
