Share User-Generated Content (UGC) for Free Social Content [Hack #111]

“Look at this photograph…”

Considering this a follow-up to our last hack on how to get your guests to promote your restaurant.

Once your guests have promoted your restaurant on social, share that content on your own accounts! This is an easy way of having content to share on your social accounts with little effort on your part.

Ideally, your guest has either tagged your social account or geo-tagged your restaurant in their post, meaning it’ll be easy to find. You can also have your guests use specialty hashtags that you can track using social media tools, too, as a third way of finding the posts.

Once you find the positive online promotions, share them to your restaurant’s social accounts. Sharing that content on Instagram Stories, Snapchat and Facebook Stories are great ways of using those features. They don’t clog up your main feed but still show off the great time your other guests are having.

If you find a particular amazing user-generated content (UCG) about your bar or restaurant, you may want to share it directly to your social accounts. Be sure to give credit to the guest, of course.

You don’t have to share everything that’s being said about your restaurant. Be judicial in what you decide to re-share and what to pass on. Even though you’re not creating the content, you’re still putting your stamp of approval on it for sharing it.
