Be Merry with Mulled Wine

Ingredients: 

  • 1 large orange
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 6 whole closes
  • 6 allspice berries
  • 6 whole black peppercorns
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 bottle of fruity red wine
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of brandy
  1. Zest then juice the orange.
  2. Press the cardamom pods with the flat of a knife to bruise them. In a large non-aluminum pot combine all of the ingredients cooking over medium heat and stirring until the sugar dissolves. 
  3. Reduce the heat to low, simmer until flavors have combined, approximately 30 minutes. Strain and garnish with a cinnamon stick. Enjoy!
